AeroFarms Expands Lineup of Award-Winning Leafy Greens; David Rosenberg Discusses
NEWARK, NJ - AeroFarms is bringing exciting new offerings to the produce aisle that will have retailers seeing green as they watch register rings abound. The supplier has recently announced it is expanding its line of leafy greens to include five enticing new items.
“Our company is committed to partnering with our retail partners to expand the entire category of leafy greens and drive consumption with our sustainably grown produce that is winning on taste,” said David Rosenberg, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer. “We are excited to expand our line of microgreens, which we believe can move from just a garnish to the center of the plate given their exceptional taste—microgreens can be enjoyed all of the time!”
The five new additions include Baby Bok Choy - The New Spinach™, Micro Arugula, Micro Broccoli, Micro Kale, and Micro Rainbow Mix. The award-winning brand of leafy greens is prized by consumers for its elevated flavor and is grown using the company’s proprietary aeroponics and indoor vertical farming technology, according to a press release, using 95 percent less water than traditional farming and zero pesticides.
AeroFarms’ new Baby Bok Choy - The New Spinach reimagines the spinach experience in a juicier, more flavorful, and even more nutrient-dense, way. The addition of the new microgreens, which were a response to overwhelming consumer demand, are produced year-round at the highest quality, and offer a great visual and flavor appeal, giving home chefs a simple and delicious way to elevate their dishes. These microgreens also offer a powerful way to provide a potent boost of vitamins, minerals, and phytonutrients.
All AeroFarms leafy greens are safely grown indoors in New Jersey at one of AeroFarms’ commercial indoor vertical farms that are certified for USDA Good Agricultural Practices, SQF Level 2 Good Manufacturing Practices, Non-GMO Project Verification, and OU Kosher, as noted in the release.
To bring these innovative new offerings to market, AeroFarms begins by selecting flavorful varieties of microgreens and baby greens, then perfects them in its proprietary indoor vertical farms to optimize quality, yield, color, nutrition, texture, and taste. To help display the breadth of flavors and varieties the grower can provide, the company has developed its signature FlavorSpectrum™, which uses colors to depict the taste consumers can expect when trying out the products.
AeroFarms leafy greens are currently available at several retailers including Amazon Fresh, Baldor Specialty Foods, FreshDirect, Morton Williams, ShopRite, Walmart, and Whole Foods Market.
