Costco Reports $3.86B Gain in June Sales Results



ISSAQUAH, WA - June ended up being a lucrative month for Costco Wholesale Corporation as the retailer reported its sales results for the five-week period ending July 3 after recently announcing its deal to buy the remaining stake in Costco Taiwan. In total, Costco tallied $22.78 billion in net sales, a nearly $3.9 billion increase from $18.92 billion last year.

In addition to the 20.4 percent increase in net sales, Costco reported net sales of $188.34 billion for the 44 weeks ending July 3, 2022, a release stated. That is a 16.9 percent increase from $161.09 billion during the same period last year.

Other highlights include:

  • United States comparable sales were up 21.5 percent from the same five-week period last year and 16.6 percent from the 44-week period
  • Canadian comparable sales saw a 14.2 percent increase over last year for the June period and 15.9 percent for the 44-week window
  • E-commerce comparable sales rose 7 percent from the same five-week period last year and 10.6 percent from the 44-week period

Currently, Costco operates 833 warehouses, including 574 in the United States and Puerto Rico, 107 in Canada, 40 in Mexico, 31 in Japan, 29 in the United Kingdom, 16 in Korea, 14 in Taiwan, 13 in Australia, four in Spain, two each in France and China, and one in Iceland. The retailer also operates e-commerce sites in the U.S., Canada, the United Kingdom, Mexico, Korea, Taiwan, Japan, and Australia.
