Greenyard USA/Seald Sweet Announces Retirement of Michael Walsh
VERO BEACH, FL - Farewells are never easy, especially when it comes to the tight knit bonds like those formed in the produce industry. Fortunately, though, those “farewells” soon turn into “see you laters” as we all get to watch our friends grow into the next stage of their life’s journey. Greenyard USA/Seald Sweet will soon be saying its own “see you later” to Michael Walsh Sr. as he prepares to retire at the end of this month.
“Seald Sweet has a great group of people, a nice mix of commodities, and a deep history in marketing fresh produce from around the world. I truly enjoyed my time working with them. Their global reach on sourcing is compelling,” expressed Walsh.
Walsh joined the company as an Account Executive and brought a wealth of knowledge with him. Not only did he make a positive impact at Greenyard USA/Seald Sweet, but he has been involved in the produce industry for nearly 44 years with his career starting in the Philadelphia produce market with Procacci Brothers.
According to a press release, Walsh turned that experience into managing a few well-respected grape, stonefruit, and citrus companies including Unifrutti, Oppenheimer, Chiquita, and Del Monte Fresh.
“Michael has had a stellar sales career at Seald Sweet and it has been an honor having had him as part of our team. We are proud that he elected to finish his career at Seald Sweet, and only wish him the best,” stated Mayda Sotomayor, CEO.
After his vast career, Walsh plans to enjoy his family, especially spending time with his grandkids.
Best of wishes to Michael Walsh as he embarks on this next phase in his journey!
