Healthy Family Project Launches Annual Power Your Lunchbox Campaign; Trish James Comments

ORLANDO, FL - Healthy Family Project is pushing forward in its plans to get more fresh produce into the hands of consumers and onto the plates of children everywhere. The organization recently kicked off its annual Power Your Lunchbox campaign focused on empowering kids to pack their own lunches, make after-school snacks, and help prepare family meals. This year, Power Your Lunchbox partners have committed to donating $12,000 to United Fresh Start Foundation to increase children and their families’ access to fresh produce.

Trish James, Vice President, Healthy Family Project“We recognize that kids of all ages can lend a hand in packing lunches and creating family meals. This year’s campaign is all about helping our future generation to be successful and independent in the kitchen,” said Trish James, Healthy Family Project Vice President. “We know many kids depend on school for their meals, and that’s why we are dedicated to ensuring those who receive their meals from school have access to healthy options. We are excited to once again support United Fresh Start Foundation with this year’s donation to increase accessibility in schools.”

The program, which is now in its eighth year and works in partnership with the organization’s health-conscious brand partners, has raised over $165,000 to benefit charities that support families. This year, six brands will team up to help families kick off a healthy school year and make a difference, according to a press release, including Bee Sweet Citrus, Crispy Green®, Nature Fresh Farms, Pero Family Farms®, Shuman Farms’ RealSweet®, and Yo Quiero!®.
