Southern Specialties Expands Mexican Asparagus Deal



MEXICO - Southern Specialties is starting off 2020 with a few beneficial tips—asparagus tips that is! As part of its Mexican deal, the grower, importer, processor, and distributor is preparing to ship its Caborca-grown asparagus beginning the last week of January.

“We have been known as a leading producer and distributor of asparagus from Peru for many years,” said Carlos Solf, Director of Procurement. “We started making investments in the Mexican deal several years ago. We have seen over 40 percent growth there in the last two years. We continue to invest in deals that bring increased value to our customers.”

As part of its Mexican deal, Southern Specialties is preparing to ship its Caborca-grown asparagus beginning the last week of January

Southern Specialties will ship both conventional and organic asparagus from Mexico until mid-April. Packed in all sizes from small to jumbo, the conventional asparagus will be available in 11 and 28-lb cases, while the organic variety will just be available in 11-lb cartons.

According to a press release, Southern Specialties' Mexican asparagus will be available to customers, in both LTL and straight loads, from shipping points in San Luis, Arizona, and Pompano Beach, Florida.
