Sunkist Growers is assisting students with their academic pursuits by awarding 16 promising students in the cooperative’s growing areas of California and Arizona with scholarships.


“We are pleased to announce this year’s Bodine-Sunkist scholarship recipients,” said Sunkist President & CEO Russell Hanlin. “These students show tremendous promise, and we’re honored to support them in fulfilling their academic goals.”


Established in 1985 in memory of Sunkist board vice chairman Arthur W. Bodine, the annual scholarship, honors exceptional students from agricultural backgrounds, according to a press release.


The following students have been awarded Bodine-Sunkist scholarships for the 2013/14 academic year:

• Leticia Garcia Reyes, Woodlake, CA

• Miriam Juarez-Vargas, Salinas, CA

• Rodrigo Tellez, Tracy, CA
